About the role:
We’re looking for a creative and climate-motivated Social Media & Digital Content Creator to help bring science to life online. Reporting to the Media Director, you’ll support the production of social-first video and visual content, contribute to digital campaigns, and help translate complex topics into engaging, accessible posts that resonate with diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities
- Create short-form video content for multiple social and digital platforms
- Draft posts and threads to accompany videos, visuals, and multimedia packages
- Help repurpose research, graphics, and reports into dynamic video and social content
- Assist in recoding, editing, and post-production of short videos and podcasts
- Monitor social media trends and help identify timely video or content opportunities
- Work with science, content, and engagement teams to ensure accuracy and impact
- Track analytics on social media performance and other Climate Central content
- Provide support for visual content team
- Other duties may be assigned as needed
Required Skills and Experience:
- At least two (2) to three (3) years of experience creating digital and/or video content
- Proficiency with basic visual and video editing tools
- Strong graphic design fundamentals (with some experience in Photoshop and InDesign)
- Strong visual storytelling and writing skills
- Familiarity with YouTube shorts, Instagram Reels, and other short-form video formats
- Understanding of social media analytics and optimization strategies
- Interest in climate science, sustainability, or environmental communication
- Organized, collaborative, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with motion graphics or animation tools (including Premiere, and After Effects)
- Basic knowledge of climate science or science communication
- Fluency in additional languages, especially Spanish
Compensation:
The expected base salary range for this position is $70,000-75,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Climate Central offers generous benefits including:

Location and employment eligibility:
This position can be mostly remote, in accordance with Climate Central organizational policy. Presence at headquarters or other U.S.-based locations is required for periodic team and organizational meetings, events and convenings. Climate Central’s headquarters are in Princeton, N.J.
